The potential of immersive virtual reality for interpersonal skills training - technology development and experimentation processes

Résumé

Albeit not being necessarily as a new technology as one could think, Virtual Reality (hereafter: VR) saw a recent surge in interest owing to enhanced accessibility of hardware devices, like HMD headsets, and of higher computing performances (Dincelli & Yayla, 2022). Companies facing challenges such as demographic change capitalize on VR’s new immersivity potential to attract, retain and train newcomers (Lacity et al., 2023; PwC, 2023). In this communication, we show how the collective process of developing and testing such an immersive VR solution can lead individuals into adapting their training process.
